Book Review: Finding Kate by Pamela Humphrey

Finding-Kate-by-Pam-Humphrey

Here I am with the next installment by Pam Humphrey: Finding Kate. I loved Finding Clair so much that I decided to read the entire series and I also found out from Pam that there’s another book in this series being released and I was able to get an ARC of that. Haven’t read it yet, but when I told her I downloaded she recommended that I read Finding Kate and Finding Treasure before reading the ARC The Chase. The review for Finding Treasure will hopefully be up in November since I’m posting this in October. I read this one in early September, but because life was a tad crazy then, it took me a couple of weeks before I could actually sit down to write the review. Hopefully, my brain comes through and I can remember it because I really did enjoy it! First up, again, since I feel like I’m awful at summarizing books, I’ve pulled the blurb for this book from Amazon:

Time doesn’t heal all wounds, but it sometimes delays retribution.

After learning she was kidnapped as a child, Kate is eager to move to Texas. Alex—excited about their newly budding relationship—suggests a road trip to Denver to pack up her apartment. When her story hits the 24-hour news cycle, long-kept secrets threaten Kate and Alex’s happily-ever-after and their lives.

Kate wants to start over in the house her mother loved. Alex wants time for the relationship to deepen, but when the unthinkable happens, he realizes love rarely shows up alone.

In a hunt to find Kate, Alex lands at her laptop, searching. Can he keep her alive? Can he keep her at all?

I’m still totally loving Kate and watching the relationship with Alex grow. It’s definitely a tricky situation they’re in, but I think they do a great job of handling it, for the most part. Naturally, they’re human. I love the way Pam continues to get into their heads. I’ll admit, sometimes it takes me a few lines to figure out whose head we’re in, but I always get there pretty quickly. I do like how the story is told in the first person. I personally struggle with writing in the first person, so props to you Pam. I was afraid for Kate while Alex was trying to find her and I read with bated breath a lot of the time. I do definitely recommend this book, I wouldn’t tell you I’m going to read the entire series, or even be doing these reviews if I didn’t like/recommend them.

I know I’m not saying too much, but I’m afraid if I do I’ll give too much of the story away. I do hope you enjoy reading my reviews. You can always comment on any of them too, I love to hear from readers!
