Last night was a rough one for me. I guess it’s from the stress and grief this week, but I was up till 6am tossing and turning and I went back and forth from my bed to the recliner in our living room where I watched Gilmore Girls on Netflix. I tried to sleep, but it didn’t come. Not until my body was finally exhausted as the sun came up. It wasn’t a big shock losing my dad, but it’s never easy when these things happen. I told my mom I’m surprised he lasted as long as he did in the nursing home. He was going on 6 years there. Mister will be 7 this year and that’s how I keep track because he was a baby when my dad went into the nursing home. They took pretty good care of him. We were blessed to find a decent one that was close to home so we could visit him regularly. Then of course, the pandemic shut everything down for a while and we weren’t allowed in to see him. I’m thankful we got to see him for Father’s Day this year. Next month would’ve been his 78th birthday.
Anyway, it’s Friday, so let’s see what free books we have for a weekend of reading, shall we?
