Well, today is my dad’s birthday. I so wish we could visit him. It’s been so hard for him to understand why we can’t these past months. And it breaks our hearts. He’s stuck in a nursing home and of course, it’s on lockdown. I get why, so I don’t need the lectures, but it’s not fair. Mister made him a card and my mom and I got him one, but it’s not the same. My mom talked about calling him to sing happy birthday to him, but he’s so hard of hearing that he might not be able to understand us. Heck, he might not hear his phone ring! But we’ll still try.
I know I’m late with the books; I had to run out for a bit. I’m back and I’m having my first solid food in 10 days. It’s a pot of veggie beef soup I threw together, and it’s pretty good. But I’m taking my time eating it. I was also allowed to have coffee this morning! There’s 20 free books here today, so enjoy them. And if you’re in my neck of the woods, enjoy them while listening to the rain.
