Weekly Blog Update

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything to my blog. I’m going to commit to posting at least something each week, even if it’s just a few quick lines of me complaining about frustrations, lol.

Anyway, I haven’t been writing as much this past week as I should have been. There’s been a lot of other things going on. We took my son to visit Pre-K and it looks like he’ll be enrolling 3 days a week this fall. That will be good for both of us. Though I will admit that as we drove to the school Friday morning I found myself holding back tears at the thought of him starting school. He’s 4 1/2 and has been home with me pretty much all day every day since he was born. It’s going to be a big adjustment for both of us. But as much as I love him, I think some time apart will be good.

So, writing. Like I said, I haven’t been writing this past week as much as I should have been, but I did get some work done on my short story, so there’s that. I’m pushing to get that done as soon as I can so I have it as a magnet. But it’s looking like it’s closer to a novella length-wise. It still has yet to be revised, but as of right now it’s at just over 23K words. That’s a bit long for a short story, but who knows what will happen once it’s finished and I get into revising it.

Speaking of revising…I should be up to my eyeballs in revisions for the first book in my series, which also happens to be my debut novel. However, I keep putting it off. I tell ya, I can sit at the computer and write for hours, but the second it’s time to revise I just can’t do it. Anybody want to do it for me? LOL No? Yeah, I didn’t think so. I know it’s something I need to do on my own, at least to the best of my abilities.

Ok, that’s all I’ve got for this week. Stay tuned for more updates!
