Book Review: Covert Identities by Amabel Daniels

covert identities review

Before we get started with this book review I wanted to add something. This is my first ever book review! I’m excited and nervous about it and I hope my readers will enjoy these reviews. I’m not sure how often I’ll be getting these written and posted, but I’m hoping to do at least one a month. I have a TON of e-books on my Kindle Reader and I need to read more! So, I’m hoping this will encourage me to do just that! Plus, it helps authors get exposure and helps me get exposure as well! I found a Book Review Formula in the Author Like a Boss Facebook group, so if you want to get started writing book reviews and you’re not sure how, join the group and find the PDF!

Covert Identities is a new release by Amabel Daniels and will be out on June 27th! Make sure to mark it on your calendar so you can pick up your copy! You can also find her website here.

On the heels of a nasty divorce, celebrity dancer Amy Perry expects a mess when she returns to the summerhouse her Uncle Henri willed her. But she didn’t count on the headache of one too-hot-to-handle contractor–who is also her childhood nemesis. Despite the shock of learning who his new employer is, Sean Newland wants to treat this renovation like all his other projects: with professionalism and ease. In Amy’s presence, it’s not so simple. Because on the first day, they find a dead body. Later, they stumble upon a journal packed with unusual hints of past sins. Working together, both on the house and unraveling the book’s riddles, they discover new truths about one another. In the game of love, loyalty, and trust, it appears that many around them aren’t who they seem to be–and uncovering true identities can come at a very high price.

I volunteered to be a beta-reader for this book. This was my first time beta-reading for anyone, but I think I’ll be doing it more often. I really enjoyed this book and really didn’t want to put it down! Amy is such a strong person after everything she’s gone through. The fact that she can learn to trust by the end of this book is amazing! The chemistry between Amy and Sean is evident from the first time they interact with each other. This was my first romantic suspense book, but I think I’ll be reading more of them, especially by Amabel! The pacing was great and kept me turning the page wanting to read more. I would definitely recommend picking this book up when it comes out.

    1. Not too bad. I’m not a big fan of erotic scenes and while this did have one sex scene, it wasn’t too bad.
